Using his engineering background, Gennaro specialises in the patenting and design registration of general mechanical devices, metal building elements, building methods and metal strip casting technology.

Gennaro’s client base includes individual inventors and small and large Australian companies, mainly in the steel and construction industries. He has recently been seconded as the principal consultant on intellectual property for a major international steel-making company.

Before joining Griffith Hack in 1995, Gennaro worked for another major patent attorney firm. He previously worked for IP Australia for over 10 years as an examiner of patents and ran the organisation’s Australian Patent Information Service branch in Sydney, where he was responsible for conducting database searches in a wide range of technologies. He became a registered patent attorney and a registered trade mark attorney in 1991.
