Jacquie has a background in Organic Chemistry and in her PhD studies she expressed and purified and
solved the crystal structure of an enzyme and also used both molecular modelling and medicinal chemistry in
the design and synthesis of potential enzyme inhibitors. She also held a Post-Doctoral position at Institut
Pasteur, Paris, in the division of structural biochemistry, working on serine-threonine kinases in the design of
novel therapeutics for tuberculosis. During her time at Griffith Hack, Jacquie has been involved in drafting
specifications and in prosecution of patent specifications in Australia as well as overseas, and has worked
with clients in the pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food technology areas. Jacquie is currently close to
completion of her studies to become a qualified patent and trade mark attorney.
Through her studies, Jacqueline has presented her work at conferences and is an author on five peer
reviewed journals. In addition to her experience in Research and Development, she also gained some
industry experience at a large chemical company during her undergraduate studies.
