Jacky has extensive experience in all aspects of intellectual property law and in particular has acted in court proceedings involving patents (infringement, revocation and extension of term), copyright, breach of contract and misleading and deceptive conduct. She has advised clients across a wide variety of industries including research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, energy, materials sciences and consumer goods, as well as individuals.
Jacky has wide experience in patent litigation, especially pharmaceutical and chemical patents. She has represented pharmaceutical companies in relation to their patent position and marketing and regulatory
issues in Australia (including trade practices issues). Jacky has experience acting in highly technical patent
cases, involving infringement and revocation. Jacky is also used to acting in litigation which forms part of
world-wide proceedings. Jacky also acted for a pharmaceutical company in legal and patent office
proceedings concerning the operation of the patent term extension regime for pharmaceutical patents in
Australia. Her experience includes representing a pharmaceutical company in interlocutory injunction
applications related to pharmaceutical patents, acting for an Australian pharmaceutical company in dealings
with Medicines Australia in relation to marketing activities, and advising an Australian scientific institute in relation to intellectual property issues, particularly patent, copyright and confidential information, relating to day to day management of its operations.
Jacky is also involved as a volunteer lawyer at a community legal centre.
