Prior to working in intellectual property, Thomas gained experience in the mining sector working as an on-site engineer for Rio Tinto from 2005 to 2007.
Thomas has a background in Computer Science and the broadly applicable Mechatronics fields. The degrees cover a broad range of fields in mechanical, electrical and computational areas.

Thomas has experience in all forms of intellectual property law, including copyright, designs, patent prosecution and opinion work, and trademark law: though has particularly focussed on patent work. His practice now centres on mechanical and medical device inventions. However, Thomas has 3 years previous experience in the intellectual property industry, having performed patent prosecutions predominantly in the mechanical and medical devices fields, but also in mining, software and electrical patent fields.
