Andrew stepped forward into the discipline of Mine Planning where he worked as a Planning Engineer to plan for and overlook all the daily, weekly and monthly activities of the mining operation. Andrew is currently working towards qualifications as a patent and trade mark attorney.

During his studies, Andrew worked in various types of mining operations to gain a solid foundation of the diversity of mining activities in WA. This experience included insight into open cut mining of Mineral Sands and underground mining of Nickel, Copper and Gold.
Andrew then gained extensive experience in the Open Cut mining of Iron Ore. Andrew has been exposed to most aspects of Open Cut mining including: haulage, drilling, charge up, blasting, geology, grade control, ore handling, processing and various other facets of the operation. Throughout his career, Andrew has spent a significant amount of time working closely with both operational and technical personnel. This has allowed him to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of the diverse efficiencies, limitations and challenges associated within the different aspects of a mining operation.
