Nick’s practice centres around the drafting of new patent applications and the prosecution of applications to
grant in Australia and overseas. He also provides clients with patentability and infringement advice. Nick
enjoys the challenge of understanding new technology and assisting clients by developing the broadest
possible protection for inventions.
“Our clients are often focussed on the commercial benefits of a new idea rather than what makes it an
’invention’. Our role is not only to determine a proper scope of protection but to match that to the client’s
commercial needs, so that we can secure the most useful patents for clients and provide them with a wellprotected
asset,” says Nick.
Nick is a registered patent attorney and he joined Griffith Hack in 1996. With a background in electrical and
electronic engineering, Nick has works in the telecommunications, e-commerce, computing, electronics fields
with a particular expertise in protecting software implemented inventions.
