Tony qualified as a Chartered Patent Agent in England in 1976. After immigrating to Australia, he qualified as an Australian patent attorney in 1977 and registered as a European attorney in 1979.
Using his previous experience, Tony specialises in patents for mechanical engineering devices, especially those in the automotive industry. He also represents trade mark clients and is responsible for intellectual property matters in both Australian and overseas companies in a wide range of industries.
“IP protection is crucial to any serious business. We represent small inventors who must have protection to exploit their inventions, to large corporations who put a lot of money into research and development and need protection of their investments,” says Tony.
Tony is president of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys and actively involved with Griffith Hack’s professional staff recruitment and training.
Tony has over 30 years of patent and trade mark experience. He started his professional career as a graduate engineer with an international automotive company in England, but later joined the company’s Group Patent Department and trained as a patent attorney.
