Daniel is a patent specialist, working mainly in the mechanical and electrical fields. He worked for several
years in the publishing arm of the British Institute of Physics before studying intellectual property law and
embarking on a career as a patent attorney. Daniel brings a practical approach to patent work in the
mechanical field and his physics background equips him to deal with related high-technology areas and
complex subject matter.
Daniel was awarded his Masters in the Management of Intellectual Property from the University of London in
1993 and started with a British firm of patent attorneys in the same year. He worked in the UK for several
years and rapidly qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney before moving to Australia.
Daniel joined the Brisbane Office of Griffith Hack in 2001 and is an Australian registered patent and trade
mark attorney. His practice includes both Australian and overseas clients, but is primarily focussed on locally
originating patent work, and includes a great deal of inventor contact. Daniels wealth of IP qualifications, his
current locally-based practice and his significant overseas experience have resulted in extensive experience and considerable expertise in preparation and prosecution of Australian, International, UK and European patent applications. Daniel also has substantial experience in other areas of IP including registered design and trade mark matters.
