Andreas specialises in patent work mainly in the field of physical sciences. He drafts and prosecutes patent
applications for inventions in fields including sustainable technologies, photonics, materials sciences, nanotechnology and optics.
Prior to joining Griffith Hack, Andreas was a researcher at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
Andreas’ research results were published in more than 50 refereed articles in various international journals
and he was awarded a Fellowship by the Australian Research Council.
Andreas has particular interest in advising local clients and drafting/prosecuting patent applications for their
inventions. The patent applications are frequently filed and prosecuted in Australia and also in a range of
foreign jurisdictions. The US market is a key market for most of Andreas’ clients and he enjoyed direct
tutoring by US corporate patent counsel of a large US corporation. Andreas frequently provides advice on
patent strategy, due diligence and patent infringement.
