With 13 years’ experience in intellectual property law, Jürgen assists clients in protecting and enforcing trade marks. He also specialises in internet related issues ranging from cyber-squatting to cyber fraud. As a German national born in South Africa, Jürgen brings a strong international perspective to the table which he draws on when advising both his overseas and local clients.

Having worked with some of the world’s biggest brands, Jürgen says that it is imperative to have a sound trade mark strategy. Brands across the board are facing numerous threats, including from counterfeits and cheaper alternatives. Devising the correct strategy can helps brands to navigate crowded markets and stand out from the pack.

Qualifications

  • Second State Exam in Law – Board of Examiners for Justice, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
  • Legal re-qualification in Australia – University of Melbourne
