Like the Guidance Note, Tim's practice is truly global including leading IP owners, private equity firms, lawyers and government agencies in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. Tim values a wide range of intangible assets for litigation, securitisation, financial reporting, tax compliance and commercial strategy. When conducting valuations for M&A planning and IP sales, his value opinion is supported by quantitative assessment of the commercial strength and risk profile of the subject assets. 

Tim's qualifications as a Registered Business Valuer, Chartered Accountant, MBA and Certified Practicing Marketer enable him to speak the language of each part of his clients’ businesses – from marketing to finance and strategy.  

Working alongside other professionals – particularly patent attorneys and market researchers - enables Tim to deliver insightful valuations and value-based strategy for brands and innovation. 

He brings a quantitative lens to the development of monetisation strategies for technology. This is achieved by integrating the insights from patent landscapes, consumer research, competitive benchmarking and transaction metrics into coherent economic models. In the field of brand strategy, Tim combines brand equity and valuation metrics to evaluate strategic options, track brand performance and quantify the return on marketing investment. His IP economics practice includes advising multi-national corporations on IP royalties for licensing negotiations and transfer pricing.
