21 June 2018
Griffith Hack is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Goatcher as a Principal in the firm’s Law & Trade Marks Group.
Andrew is a highly respected intellectual property lawyer with a wealth of expertise across all areas of IP – patents, trade marks, copyright, plant breeders rights and confidential information.
His experience includes working with local and multi-national clients from a wide range of industries and technologies, including mining, manufacturing, agriculture, fashion, automotive, foods, and electronics.
He was previously at Griffith Hack between 2007 and 2015 and returns to the firm after three years at commercial law firm Cornwall Stodart where he was a partner.
“We’re looking forward to Andrew rejoining Griffith Hack and helping clients to protect and leverage their IP,” Griffith Hack Executive General Manager David Madigan said.
Andrew is excited to be returning to Griffith Hack.
“Griffith Hack has a reputation as one of Australia’s leading IP firms with some of the best lawyers and patent and trade mark attorneys in the industry. It has a roster of outstanding clients who are leaders in their fields,” he said.
Law & Trade Marks Group Leader Dr Derek Baigent said: “We are thrilled to have Andrew back at Griffith Hack and share his considerable IP skills with clients and the team.”
Andrew is the immediate past president of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand and has been named in the Intellectual Property Law list of the Australian Financial Review’s Best Lawyers in Australia every year since 2011.
Andrew will be based in Griffith Hack’s Melbourne office and begin on July 2.
