A lifelong interest in how things work and the opportunity to work with innovative people were strong attractions that drew Andrew to practise intellectual property law.

Nearly 30 years later he is a highly respected IP lawyer whose counsel is sought by local and international clients across a wide range of industries.

Clients know when they work with Andrew they receive full and frank advice, enabling the development of a relationship based on trust. He understands the problems clients face and how they affect their business.

“Resolving a client’s IP issues and ensuring they don’t happen again are my focus. I want clients to be able to continue developing their ideas and businesses with the least possible disruption,” Andrew says.

Andrew’s expertise covers all areas of IP – patents, trade marks, copyright, plant breeders rights and confidential information.

He works with clients across a range of industries and technologies, including mining, manufacturing, agriculture, fashion, automotive, foods, and electronics.

Andrew is a former president of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand and has been named in the Intellectual Property Law list of the Australian Financial Review’s Best Lawyers in Australia every year since 2011. He co-authored Australian Patent Law, published by LexisNexis in 2000.

He was also an associate to a Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia and an associate for the senior Victorian Federal Court judge.
