“Strong IP is the core around which everything else in business should orbit. I bring people on that journey rather than just telling them what to do.”

Mark is passionate about innovation and for over 20 years Mark worked as a patent examiner (UK) prior to entering the patent attorney profession in Australia in 2000; “I have a fairly keen sense about whether an application will get through or not”.

Mark has specific expertise across physics applications, mechanical engineering, Medtech, Agtech, mining and transport technologies for Australian companies, and manages IP portfolios for Australian and overseas entities. Having worked in the military, rail and manufacturing sectors, Mark has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon from commercial and government IP agency perspective.

For the past 10 years Mark has been an integral contributor to the prestigious WA Innovator of the Year Program and Awards both as an Advisory Committee member and judge, working alongside some of the State’s most influential and progressive individuals.

His ongoing contribution to industry, state and local government, universities and emerging businesses is evidenced through his regular presentations and participation in IP professional industry groups including the Licensing Executive Society – Australia and New Zealand.
