As an electrical engineer, Ray initially designed and implemented control and information systems for the electricity and mining industries. Since then, he has drafted and prosecuted patent applications related to electrical and mechanical equipment including AC-DC power converters, lighting controllers and fixtures, wind turbines, sensors, building and architectural products, hand tools, transport and logistics, as well as medical device technologies including sleep apnoea masks, DVT detection, electrochemical analysis, and other electrical and mechanical technologies involved in medical devices.
Ray has extensive experience in the drafting, prosecution, enforcement and defence of patents in these technology areas as well as in the protection and enforcement of trade marks and registered designs. He has also provided freedom to operate (infringement), enforcement, validity and due diligence advice to Australian and overseas clients of varying size and complexity.
